Took my car in here as I was loosing oil, turbos were soaked in oil due to a feed issue and it was smoking. it took around 4 attempts going back and forward loosing oil and me taking it to an independent garage before they finally borescoped the engine, this costing me time and money going back and forward to Edinburgh. They said they test drove the car however I had the auto watch ghost immobiliser set to service mode, which did not re-engage meaning they had not test drove the car. Whilst they had been provided the code for the purpose of the fault finding, service mode was not disabled therefore they had not used the code or driven the car for further than 2 minutes above 30 MPH. To show the levels of competency, here is a photo of my turbo and here's the inspection sheet delivered from the mechanic. apparently the oil soaked turbos are due to spilling some during 'topping up' In the end, the car needed an engine.

Car went in for warranty work (replace adaptive headlight) they attempted to update the software in the car then the car wouldn't start. They refused to fix it unless I purchased another ECU at the tune of 2500, Car was picked up in a flatbed (as it wouldn't start) and taken to specialized dealer where they removed the new software and the car started again. Great sales service does not make up for terrible aftercare service. I was charged 250 for 2 hours labour for software updates a month prior, apparently this was unrelated and necessary, fee included handbrake tightening. They also requested I authorized 160 of labour prior to them even looking at the vehicle in case it wasn't a warranty issue, they seem determined to get money off me every step of the way. Picture car being picked up in flat bed after Eastern BMW corrupted ECU with 'BMW Software update'.
