We ordered several but the chestnut soup, foie gras, veal cutlet, spiced rye bread was amazing. Also I have to mention the restrooms. Large, WARM, smelled very nice, pretty, and clean. Love a good restroom ️

First we arrived with a reservation, Informed the waitress and were told to wait (half the tables where empty) and waited 10 minutes to be seated, eventually having to serve ourselves. Once seated it took another ten minutes to flag down a waitress, we joked at the table that perhaps they were being petty for seating ourselves. I waved at three waitresses and was ignored. Then when we finally ordered drinks she seemed to forget about even bringing the water we asked for. Another waiter eventually came and gave us wine yet when we ordered and were served our food it seemed as if we were served by the busboy. They spoke no English and were unclear on what the food was. We ordered the Lobster roll, Foie Grias, salad, Rabbit pasta and Crab linguine. The crab linguine tasted as if it was made blind. And the rabbit pasta tasted and looked like macaroni and cheese with shreds of cheap chicken. I think I saw two pieces of the so-called rabbit leg. Perhaps the food has declined since Covid and all the original chefs escaped to Austria. I saw nothing of the apparent quality online and instead experienced what I can only call a 5-yr old experimenting in a 500 kitchen. Never been so disappointed in a Michelin star.

Great experience, well worth the reservation. Wallse is a true Austrian eatery with all right flavors and additions. Is it the best michelin-restaurant in NYC? no. But hey, we each had an appetizer and a main course, we shared a great bottle of wine, we shared 2 great desserts between 4 people and we got some extra side dishes - and still managed to come at about 100 a person for this great evening. Pros: Consistent Austrain cuisine, very reasonably priced, amazing Goulash and Schnitzel and a phenomenal Poached Lobster, great wine list for every price point (we got an amazing red for 80 that was absolutely great), very well plated dishes. Cons: Nothing was out of this world: neither the service (people were initially served the wrong dishes which is a big no-no for that level of dining), the dishes or the setting. It was all 8/10, nothing to write home about. I would still come back for what I now think is one of the best \casual fine dining\ in the west village. Well worth the visit.

The food and service here were really good. We are new to the nicer end of dining and the staff was very helpful in explaining what we could expect from each dish. Overall a great experience

Reservation made last minute for lunch for 2. Service impeccable, just a mistake on my order which was literally resolved in 120sec with apologies. Food is Michelin star, place and art are amazing. The owner will tour you for an art exhibit if you ask for it. Overall a great experience which we will renew soon!
