First restaurant I walked to while on vacation in NYC because of its amazing menu to find out that due to pandemic it was closed(pick up only). Make sure you update your restaurant info on google to avoid cases like this. I walked in the cold for no reason. Very frustrating. I called when I arrived and they said pick up only. I hung up and told my boyfriend, we looked at the menu outside in the cold and when we decided what to order I called again and they never picked up
Let me start with the pros. The restaurant decor is top notch. Ideal for a date or to go hang out with a group of friends. The menu has a nice selection of dishes. However, I found the food to be just ok. Chicken empanadas had way too much crust. Fried calamari didnt seem fresh at all and had an excessive amount of breading. Finally, the lomo saltado is 28 and you are lucky if you get more than 8 small pieces of meat. The dish is also supposed to be spicy but it was more on the sweeter side.
Pio Pio is my absolute favorite Peruvian restaurant hands Up! Food is always fresh and absolutely delicious! Their Sangria is made to perfection to me, my Sister's and my Husband. Staff is always polite, caring and way beyond for whatever is your liking. Now that we have outdoor dining, Pio Pio has put together such a lovely ambiance. Also the fact that they're prices are super affordable makes them beyond 5 stars!
Great experience, great job dealing with Covid. I'll be back!
