I love Opera!!! planning to go after this pandemic is over and done with ...would love to enjoy every moment..
Took my mom to see The Magic Flute (the show my husband and I met in as performers) and we had the best time. The gift shop is great too, and the 'My First Opera' book we bought for my 3 year old was a huge hit! She's played over and over so much that we already need to replace the batteries.
Beautiful venue for opera, the largest seating of any repertory opera house on Earth. Well run and staffed, it is a pleasure to attend this venue. The performers here are top shelf, drawn from the opera elite. Production values, including set design, are amazing. The Met has earned it's well deserved reputation of excellence.
A must visit. So much history and a variety of amazing performances. ABT ballets are fantastic. Same with the opera but I've only seen 2 in this venue. Might depend on which opera you see. Production value is phenomenal. Buy tickets the day of at the box office for the best price.
