Global Leathers

I drove 2 hours from Connecticut and it was worth it. I've been searching for the right leather to use for the spine/binding of my wood covered photography portfolio. I had a very difficult time finding the right leather online so I decided to search the garment district of NYC. I made the drive down and boy was I satisfied. Going to NYC is always risky, you never know if the store you plan to shop in will be full of customers where the service is sub-par. The folks in Global Leathers took good enough care of me that I walked away with 6 genuine leather options for my project and I was excited enough to leave this review on my subway ride back home.

The best leather place I've found. I went to find leather to make pockets for a costume codpiece and Anna helped me out. I found some pieces in scraps which are hardly scraps but big leftover chunks of great skins of all sorts. It's nicely hidden away and never too crowded. UPDATE: I had the pleasure of visiting the new global leathers storefront today (for the second time) and it was as fantastic as ever. I had plans for some leather accessories and I found a marvelous cow hide that will suit me perfectly. Thanks so much

This place is almost to good. I fly in from MN to stock up on materials in the garment district and this place will always be on my list.
