This is one of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood, and I've been going for about ten years. The food is authentic and more interesting than what you can find at many Japanese restaurants in the city. Please don't miss the house-made tofu, which is truly special.

Good outdoor safe clean seating. Attentive and very welcoming staff. Everything was fresh and of quality but some dishes were hit or miss or \interesting\. Salad and Soba pudding excellent!!! Lunch is limited menu and not the normal dinner service. Lunch Bento boxes are a nice deal.

Went to dinner inside, great indoor location. amazing sake list. We(2) ordered Tofu uni as appetizer, Kaisen Don(incredible), Black Miso Cod, and Udon. The udon was the most disappointing as it was not udon...why on earth a japanese place would put udon on the menu and then serve you noodles that aren’t udon....I dont know. but it was only 14 dollar so whatever. I would go here for miso cod and tofu and any of the fresh fish.

Great place to go with a small group of friends for dinner. Good food - inventive, fresh ingredients and large enough portions. The tables are separated enough that you can have a private conversation and the level of noise does not distract. Attentive service. Recommend the salmon pot

I was so excited to try this place but ended up disappointed. Pros: Ambiance! Beautiful outdoor set up Cons: The waiter was knowledgeable about the menu items but there were long periods of time during which we couldn’t get his attention. The restaurant was out of every sake except one aged sake. They were also out of the Wagyu and offered an “American version” which was tough. None of the other dishes we tried were enough to get us back for another dinner. Definitely better Japanese options in NYC for this and lower price points. I left unimpressed and felt I spent more money than the dining experience was worth.
