I was diagnosed with diabetes when I was about 12 or 13 years old( I'm 33 now) I was sent to Beth Israel Hospital and that's where I met dr. Franklin. My family and I had no experience with diabetes, I spoke English and Spanish , but my grandmother only spoke Spanish however doctor Franklin always was very clear with her instructions on Diabetes Care. Even though dr. Franklin was an excellent doctor, I was still a child and I wanted to eat candy and eat McDonald's. So I ended up in the emergency room a lot, it got so severe that doctor Franklin sent me too a long-term hospital for diabetes management ( I always called it diabetic boot camp) . When I was younger I thought she was just so mean, but as an adult I can honestly say she saved my life. Thanks to her tough love I've had diabetes for over 20 years with minor complications, & I recently gave birth to my son and had almost no complications during the pregnancy. I honestly believe that this is all due to doctor Franklin, to the strong Foundation of diabetes management did she helped instill in me. Thank you dr. Franklin for everything
