It was very Fast About 10 mins , I Showed a Letter stating I Need my original Birth certificate. They Gave Me a Window number And I Went to go get my Birth certificate. Please Do not come without a letter or Without a printed document stating you NEED your Birth certificate because they will not give a window number and ask you to order your Birth Certificate online and the Prossess for that is a long time About 4-5 Weeks it will take them to send your Birth certificate in the mail. If you do have a letter Well Great News , A Original copy is only 17.75 ( 15 2.75 processing fee ) And Extra Copy’s are an add on of the Original price .

First off the entrance isn't on Worth Street, it's on Lafayette. Be prepared to go through metal detectors when you arrive. As soon as you walk in the main room to apply for your birth certificate is right there in lobby. If you just want that, go there but all other services go further in. There was a guy there directing people where to go. I specifically told him I needed to go to room 133 but he just threw me on the line with everyone else. When I got to the front of the line and was at a kiosk is where a worker told me I was on the wrong line. So I finally made my way to room 133 waited on two lines. One reviewed my paperwork and the other to pay for it. But it didn't matter because I ended up having to redo the entire application form 3 times. They were extremely technical and petty with the way the form had to be filled out. So now I have to wait 6-8 weeks for them to send me the certificate.

After you go in, after security check point, there is an array of window clerks ready to direct you to the relevant floors. The line moves quickly. There is a table top too, to analyze your stuff. Results are diligently fast.

Actually ordered my birth certificate online and still haven't received my birth certificate and it's been almost 2 months. Online fee is 50 dollars and then you have to mail in an additional 15 dollars for the health department as well. They charged me 50 dollars to email me some papers to mail to the health department. I could have found the same form online and saved 50 dollars. This place is a rip off!!! Figure out another way to get your birth certificate. They scamming people.

The WORST place on EARTH! I needed a certificate and didn’t order online ( Huge mistake) my number is A1243 if you look up at the board they have no type of numbering scheme what so ever. They had me wait on a line Then pay with a credit card on a machine it is now 3 repeat, THREE (3) hours later and I’m still waiting. I wish I could rate this without giving A star to this place. Go online and order. Unless you live ABUSE!!
