Not bad for the price. It was the restaurant week menu. Had all the items. The best was the mushroom lasagna. Staff was friendly and attentive. Everyone wore a mask. Look forward to coming back and trying the regular menu items once everything is opened back up.

Bar Boulud is the perfect spot for dinner before heading just across the way to the Metropolitan Opera House for a show. The menu will force some difficult choices as everything sounds delicious on the page, but you can't go wrong because each dish lives up to expectations. Highly recommend the beef tartar and the almond tarte if you have room for dessert. Come hungry because this rustic French fare is quite hearty and filling!
What not to love about anything this iconic chef Daniel Boulud does? I’ve tried to visit his restaurants in any town that I’ve visit... This Bar Boulud was less than 9 blocks where I used to live. I came here when it first opened, so much has changed to see the popping dining room and bar are quiet because NYC only allowed outdoor dining now February 2021. Tables got plexiglass in between, clean after each guests, heated, temperature check, and sanitizer is provided. We feel safe dining here. French Onion Soup is a must. It was chef classic, you can’t go wrong ever. Charcuterie plate is always a good choice! Hubby went for the truffle handmade fettuccine with hazelnut. It was delicious. I went for Double Ranch burger with Gruyere cheese with fresh shaved truffle, it was so juicy on every bite, it was so good, dripping all over my fur coat, and I didn’t care. Save room for dessert, chef classic choice! I opt for the special Big Bottle Bordeaux red special, when I say big, it’s that big Melchior size ;-) I was a happy lady. We love it here and can’t wait to return if we are in this neighborhood.
COVID19 set up: 3 sided classy dining area, excellent ventilation and spacing. Chef Daniel arrived to wish his staff a Happy Holiday. Food and service were perfection.
Absolutely fantastic food and service! First meal post lockdown and it was a winner and then some. Portions were great, probably didn't need dessert but we went with it anyway and were happy we did. There are partitions between most tables and plenty of space, the staff did a great job cleaning after each group of guests.
