It was great. Will definitely go again. I recommend all should go when it opens in the summer

Original fort built and loved in by Lt Colonel Charles Gordon of the Royal Engineers (aka later on General Gordon) nice place for a Sunday stroll with all the guns still in place. There's a tunnel system that's worth a look when open and a museum within grounds that's open occasionally. Best time to see it is in its splendor is during Fort in the Forties event. Down side to it as a public space and to much the disappointment of locals is that on most evenings it becomes a haunt for immigrants with gangs of Albanians and alike that put people off visiting.

Well worth a visit, but check Facebook page for when events are on. Once a month in the summer months a living history team drill there in one of several period uniforms, ww1, ww2 and Napoleonic. Free to watch and talk to. The tunnels, which have a small fee to enter, are well worth a look. As is the chantry which is free. Again check website for details of opening times and events

Nice to see how the entrance to London was defended. Today it's a cool area to chill and enjoy the park.
