Fantastic experience. I understand it's the biggest insect zoo in the US, and it's very well done. All different kinds of creepy-crawlies, with interesting information, often done in a fun and quirky way (just wait until you see the cockroach exhibit). There are also some animals besides insects, like small gators and turtles. The butterfly garden is the highlight, saved until the very end, and you can spend a good hour in there without even realizing it. Ideal location right at the edge of the French Quarter. Well worth the price of admission. There's a modest AAA discount, and good combination discounts if you also want to go to the aquarium.

Great place to take the kids! Right now I think this is the number 2 museum behind the world war museum in New Orleans. Very interactive they have staff with insects you can pet and teach your kids about. Worth every penny and the grand finale is the butterfly garden!

Very interesting place to visit. Has loads of exhibits in a medium sized building. In walking distance of the Aquarium with signs leading the way. The Butterfly Room was very cool. Be careful when inside, Butterflies will land on you. Watch toddlers closely. The Ant Hill room is neat also. A very unique design.

This placed is as little pricey if you just go here. If you buy the annual pass for all three locations, including the zoo and the aquarium, it's not so bad - especially for a large family. It is worth doing at least once. It doesn't take a long time to go through the whole museum. The bug food samples are pretty cool. There's a pretty good 4D movie that's about 10 minutes. The butterfly room is really neat.

For a first time experience, this was a very enjoyable place. Even if you’re not that much into bugs and stuff, there’s still things that can interest you. The place is very clean and big. I like how everything there has a plaque to explain exactly what you are looking for instead of just randomly placed bugs and stuff. Highly recommended.

Very informative, kept us cool for a good 3 hours. My 8 year old loved it. They have a butterfly house, a 4-d movie, and a cafe where you can try bugs for free.. (yes to eat) my 8 year old was brave and tasted it like a charm! I highly recommend. FYI, no firearms in this building as it is owned by the customs building..

Oh we LOVED this place. So much to see. Great experience Not very easy to locate. They also pay you down down to enter very much like the airport. Be prepared. It's a federal bld. Itll creep up on you so be on the lookout for the entrance. Once tour I side. You'll see and touch insects..they even have a restaurant . You can eat bugs. We passed on the big eating but the insects were very cool.and it was full of large varieties of insects.
