Wonderful meal last night with our friends. Excellent selection of food and served by very friendly and helpful staff. The Devon steak was very very good as were the other meals chosen by our group. We all felt very safe with the social distancing rules in place. Many thanks to all for a lovely evening. 10/10 from us.

Brilliant, fresh new pub! Serving classic pub food in a modern way. Everything seems to be made on site to a really high standard. Service was excellent and staff friendly. Food took about 20mins to arrive (however it wasn't busy when we went). There are vegetarian & vegan options (3 mains, one starter) - vegan pie was decent but way too filling for me! Menu said most dishes can be made gluten/dairy free on request. Mains are around 12 per person on average. Steaks and fish were really good but vegetarian options were average. Everywhere was fresh and very clean. Felt more like a restaurant than a pub which was a nice change - there's still a bar area though and plenty of people went there for drinks only.
Following Covid protocol to the letter, very clean all staff wearing masks. The food is just superb, I had scallops to start , they were fat and juicy and just so tasty with a wonderful sauce. My main course was the daily spec, T bone steak , I like mine medium and it was cooked perfectly, tender , juicy and the accompanying vegetables, french beans, courgette, leek and broccoli were lightly cooked with lots of flavour. My wife had medium rare rump steak, pink in the middle and cut so easily with the steak knife. We shared a lemon roulade with ice cream to finish. We will be regular visitors at the New Dawn , so many good dishes to work our way through, venison, haddock and the famous lamb shank.
Beautiful food, reasonably priced and you get what you pay for and more with the portion sizes! Phenomenal. Been here a few times now and never been disappointed
