This museum is about history of Nerja and fully connected to the cave. First visit the cave then better to visit museum or inverse whatever you will be happy to understand. Not to long, you are never tired with them, and it has a lot of things to help understand.
Well worth a visit for an hour or two (normally 4 but free to EU citizens on Mondays). There are several floors of exhibits about the history of Nerja and its local industries and the Caves of Nerja. There's also a gallery for special exhibitions. In a modern building with well-presented displays and videos to watch and explanations in Spanish and English.
Modern, well organised, informative on local history. Friendly staff, good value for the price. Not overly large, can be walked in about an hour.
Fantastic little museum. A must if you're going to visit the caves.
