Hi my name is Steve and iam lucky to be 30min drive from the peak district which as been my hike ground for the last 50 years. But recently I've been keeping it local due to the current situation. My daily walks are in and round the village of Wentworth and below are a few photos of the area, novelty map I've drawn. Check out your local areas you never know what history you may come across

A folly built to satisfy a gentleman's bet that he could drive his horses through the eye of a needle. Mason John Carr built this 46-foot-tall pyramid under the instructions of the Marquis of Rockingham around 1730. According to the legend, Marquis bet a friend that he could drive his horses through the eye of a needle. He had this “needle” constructed exactly wide enough for a small carriage to pass through so that he could win his bet.

Great walk up to this spot from the heritage centre and you can park there for free. The hill is quite a steep climb but you get used to it after several visits. There is 4 stiles to climb over on the way up, which are abit wobbly, so take care on those. Not much to do while you're at needle's eye but there is a few nice views surrounding and on the walk up. You can always check out the heritage centre too.
