Could only give 3 stars currently as the house cannot be seen for scaffolding during extensive renovations, nor visited inside due to covid and the works. But grounds are still open and are lovely for walks, especially the snowdrop woods at present. And the cafe is open for takeaways. The lady greeting us was very helpful in explaining where to go, so definitely worth a visit if you are a member. Probably not so much if you have to pay for entry.

Good for walk round the gardens and nature walks to stretch your legs and try to imagine what it's like without the scaffolding, which, sadly covers nearly all of the house. Necessary i know and glad that the work is being done, just sad that can't see it in all it's glory.
Had a nice visit to Oxburgh in the rain. It's a bit of a mess at the moment due to the refurbishment work going on but this did mean it was quiet. A few of the paths were flooded which caused a few issues for the wheelchair user with us. Maybe wait until the building work is finished before planning a visit.
Beautiful place, currently in renovation due to one of the skylight fell out, then they realised that there was a serious problem with the other windows, they have got a lottery grant to help pay for the renovations. Interesting how they got the scaffolding up in the moat. Nice walks in the woods around the castle. They have an area supplying teas and coffees etc.
Beautiful historical building with a moat, formal gardens a woodland walk and a river. Very interesting place and lovely grounds. Well worth a visit for a peaceful walk, a picnic and an insite into the family who owned this property. For children there's a den building area and if you are lucky you might spot otters in the river too.
