Wonderful national trust property will return when allowed inside great walks
like
A living heritage site where the building and grounds are gifted to the national trust but the items inside belongs to the current family owners. They were staying in the house when we were there which was a fantastic treat. Over 300 years of heritage and history. Wonderful site, gardens, local cafe and staff as always. Half a day would be sufficient to take in the outdoor environment. There is a wonderful bug counting game , predominately for children however it’s also fun for the adults. Helps with make the house fun for all ages. You get a sticker at the end which is neat. :).
This is such a lovely place to visit. The grounds are massive and well looked after. I've not been unto the house yet though as I don't trust my children not to break a 3,000,000 vase (or something similar). Took them to a couple of holiday activities there (small raft building and den building) both were great fun, even though it poured down on the raft building day, and I basically made the den whilst the kids climbed trees and emptied the picnic bag. I have the blisters to prove it!
We walked the gardens of the house for this year's Easter egg hunt. Loved the Alice in Wonderland vibe, especially the topiary, water features and woodland walk. Recommended to any nature enthusiast, come visit and enjoy this southern gem.
Beautiful gardens, a great afternoon exploring as we look for some normality. Would be a fantastic family afternoon. Loads of room to explore, have picnics and spend time as a family.
