My first visit to this Marina today. Visited the cafe...wow..the breakfast was amazing, the full monty. Lovely friendly staff all dressed for Xmas plus had a grotto with real Father Christmas ho ho ho. Thank you to the chief will definitely be back again one day on my new life on a canal boat

Fantastic service can't do enough to help
A fantastic day out for the family. Boat was immaculate, staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Great location for a full day's cruising through beautiful country. Everyone wants to go again.
On Saturday the 24th August 2019 we had hired a day boat from Venetian Hire Boats. At twenty to nine in the morning, when we were less than 10 minutes away from the marina and having already driven for 50 minutes in two separate cars, the owner decided to call to inform me that the boat wasn't working and that we wouldn't be going. This was meant to be a surprise birthday present for my husband, I had decided to do a picnic and had spent all morning preparing food and making sandwiches. To tell someone 10 minutes before they are due to arrive is pretty abysmal by anyone's standards. I understand that these things happen but to be told this late on isn't acceptable. This totally ruined our day and my husband's birthday. Most of the food went in the bin and as we had already drove for over 50 minutes in two separate cars, we also wasted money on petrol, so we are out of pocket for the day. Just a word of warning to anyone else thinking of booking this day boat. They only have the one so the same thing could happen to you!! I think if we had actually got to go on the boat, my husband would have really enjoyed it and we probably would have booked for a weekend or week but I will be booking with someone else next time. Once bitten twice shy.
Six of us shared the boat 'Barcarolle' for the day and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The owners were very helpful and friendly both during the booking process and also on the day of hire, and they gave us clear and informative instructions. The boat was extremely clean and in a lovely condition. Would definitely recommend hiring Barcarolle, it's a good value, fun day out!
