My mother in law died of cancer on 19th June 2018. My wife wanted to use a local undertaker and HARVEYS have a small office in Eccleston. The first person I spoke to was Dave KING. He provided all the advice to us, including prices, options, crematorium availability and pricing, along with years of experience and a very personable style. Dave offers sympathy and empathy when you need it. He came out to meet us and gave us a brochure to look at and gave further advice. He didn't just talk. He listened. When my mother in law came back to the Eccleston office, she was dressed neatly in clothes chosen by her daughter's, but also, her nails had been clipped and varnish applied and some pink lipstick. This is why I say Dave listened, because she always wore nail varnish and pink lipstick but the illness had not allowed for this at the end. It may seem simple, but this was a big comfort for the family. Dave allowed us to visit when we wanted to and he always lit candles, which was extremely dignified. Dave arranged for her to be brought home to us, the day before the funeral and we met other members of the team, who all looked immaculate and were very professional. On the day of the funeral, the team were punctual and respectful. Dave led the whole process, supported by Tony and Ian and it was dignified and a credit to them. When you're sad at a time like this, their professional touch helped immensely. Dave organised the pall bearers who were family members who hadn't carried before. He organised the Celebrant (Angela), who was brilliant also and he organised the staff at Burscough Crematorium (Gary), who was also very efficient. I didn't know HARVEYS before. I do now and I have no hesitation in recommending them to any family dealing with the loss of a loved one. They were tremendous. Dave was brilliant. We would not have changed anything.
