Absolutely stunning. Discovered in the late 1800s and mostly buried where it had fallen in the preceding centuries, it has been reassembled into the remarkable amphitheatre you see can here. Not only has the theatre been restored but also the area where the gladiators fought, and sanding down in the 'bear pit' it's easy to feel intimidated by the walls so high around you. Just imagine thousands of onlookers cheering (or jeering) around you. And who knew there were so many different types of gladiator?! All is explained as you explore.

Sensational. It's hard not to be impressed by such magnificently preserved legendary landmarks. It's 100 per cent worth the money - get the combo ticket for only a few euros more, it's well worth it to gain access to the other sights - brilliant! Helpful? Please click 'like'.

A lot of Roman art. It's sad that a good part of it is ruined. But you can feel the Roman empire and see a lot of interesting architecture.

Not as large as I had expected, but it was a treat to walk in the center of the colliseum and experience the space from a Gladiators (or persecuted Christian's or Jew's) perspective. 12 euros for one adult ticket for both teatre and amphiteatre.

Really impressive, easy to buy tickets. There are machines as well as kiosks to buy them. We arrives at about 6pm. No queue and straight in. We had two small kids and a double buggy. Some of the going is tough with the buggy but the kids loved running around. The arena and theatre are huge and you get a sense of what an important city it must have been.
