Oh god! It really is comfort food! Must try (especially haggis with mash potatoes) in Edinburgh! \udb40\udc67\udb40\udc62\udb40\udc73\udb40\udc63\udb40\udc74\udb40\udc7f So we came here during our trip to Edinburgh as we were trying to find a good place with home made Scottish food! That was a perfect choice! Portions are enormous! Food delicious! And staff super friendly! We got lots of recommendations from staff for nice cocktail bars in Edinburgh so thank you! We have visited a few of these places ;) P.S. make sure you try whiskey cider!

Couldn’t be more thrilled with this establishment! All of the food we had was amazing, my wife getting the shepherds pie, myself with the sausage casserole. Everything came out plated extremely well and all of it piping hot and noticeably fresh. The place had only a couple other customers in, which the employee mentioned was quite out of the norm. The crew working were incredibly solid, and the employee upfront was awesome. We ended up staying about two hours talking with him about all the great things to do and see in Edinburgh. Honestly one of my better dining experiences in the country!
I’ve been going here on and off for years. It’s the best comfort food in Edinburgh. The Mac and cheese is perfect every time. And with great staff, with great banter you can’t ask for more. It’s a quick walk from the royal mile and has a cosy, comforting feel.
Absolutely delicious! Had a burger, steak and ale pie and a chicken burger...completely clean plates, very full tummies and very happy customers. Had originally planned to go elsewhere but glad we changed our minds. Would definitely recommend and will be back
Really enjoyable and tasty food and super friendly staff made this a delightful experience. So many great options in sausages (smoked pork were delicious) , mash (mustard style was yum) and gravy for you to choose from and the fish pie gets the highest recommendation. Ice cream float was a top guilty-pleasure as well. Lovely place, shame we didn't have any space left for those deserts. Maybe next time?
