About an hour drive outside of DC, Rock Hill was a perfect escape on a hot summer day. We made a reservation for Wednesday before for Saturday morning peach picking. It was easy to check in when we arrived and we could drive up into the farm so we were only a hundred feet from the peach trees. There are only about 10 vehicles for the 10:00 a.m. time, so it was easy to social distance from other groups. Surprisingly there were lots of peaches to pick from, some were very ripe and some were firm, but peaches can ripen after you pick them so that was an issue. Price was 2.75 per pound. We filled a peck/box and paid about 20. We then picked our own wildflowers, which is 10 and they give you a mason jar and allow you to pick as many flowers as can fit in there. We also got a half gallon of milk and a scoop of ice cream at the store. Our 17 month old had a lot of fun. There is a porta potty on site, and a picnic bench with some shade.

Today was our first time at this farm and our first time apple picking and it was great! We were impressed with, and very grateful for, their COVID precautions--they have a reservation system so that the farm doesn't get too crowded, and every single employee was wearing a mask and friendly. Every customer was wearing a mask as well, and we found it easy to keep distanced. Parking was plentiful and there were plenty of apples available, so we were able to fill our bags with a few different varieties well within our hour time slot. Thank you Rock Hill Orchard--we will definitely be back!

We went just for the ice cream and it was well worth the wait. They only scoop cups, not cones, and no samples nor pints. They do serve milk shakes. We ordered ginger, toasted coconut, and cuppa joe (coffee flavored) ice cream. And they have these awesome wooden spoons to scoop up a big bite. Goi g back soon to try more flavors. You can buy milk, butter, vegetables, and fruit, too.

A quick and fun place to stop, especially now during COVID 19. I got a scoop of toasted coconut and a scoop of dark chocolate. Another got a scoop of cookies and cream and a scoop of dark chocolate. She loved the cookies and cream since it had real oreo flavor. Another got a scoop of ginger and a scoop of malted milk ball. The ginger smelled and tasted of real ginger. Was a bit spicy. All scoops were delicious!
