Went to Nottingham to see the mighty Afghan Whigs in Concert at the Rescue Rooms and decided to stay over at a hostel rather than miss any of the gig and go home early. So this meant the chance to sample some Nottingham fish and chips. Moulin Rouge came up as an option on the way back to get the train to work. It has a seating area at the back. Ordered fish and chips with beans and bread and butter with a drink. All came as part of a deal and was less than a tenner. Chips were ok. A few more to fill the empty quarter of the plate would have made it look more balanced. Peas and beans come separate in a bowl. Chips were ok and the fish was nice with a crispy batter that wasn't too heavy. Restaurant is calm and very clean. Take out is also available. Table service was friendly and efficient.

A hidden gem in the centre of Nottingham. Fabulous fish and chips, friendly service AND a quaint, well appointed, dining area at the rear with table service... why pay a lot more at George's ?
