Great hotpot in a style I've never tried in the states. Staff used what little English they had to help us feel at home, and one of the staff members saw our confusion & even helped us as we prepared the stewing hotpot

Located on the 2nd floor there is only tatami seating and counter seating. Very simple menu but food was ok. On our visit the restaurant was quite empty only is and 2 other tables. Do note that this is a smoking restaurant and both other tables were smoking which made the Experience bad for us who are non smokers.

Giving up visiting Aino Island well-known for lots of cats living in, Claire and I just wandered around the downtown in Fukuoka City. Getting starving around 8 pm, we decided to try motsunabe which is known as a regional dish of Fukuoka. I had been worried over Claire wouldn't like the nabe because Claire does not enjoy gut parts of meat. But she just enjoyed it a lot. With lots of cabbage and chives in the nabe, the soup tasted deep and soothing. The champon noodles were added to the nabe in the last part of the course, and I can not describe perfectly how the noodles were good with the soup. I could understand why motsunabe has been popular even among Koreans. Try when you visit Fukuoka!
