Very cosy place. Nice garden with view next to the river. Great food, probably the best fish and chips

Grear Old rustic style pub, set in picturesque Knaresborough. Situated just over a small bridge and short walk from the town. Staff really friendly and helpful. Great outdoor seating space and well socially distanced tables. Great selection of beers and spirits. Dogs welcome in some areas of the pub. Normally the trail to mother Shipton caves is accessible from the gardens at the back but during covid this is not the case at the moment. Access to the caves is via the normal entrance

Myself, my partner and our dog called in for lunch on Saturday 5th December. First thing we noticed is there are two separate bars, one dog friendly and one dog free, a good idea as it keeps both sets happy. Staff were friendly and quickly showed us to a table. We both opted for the pheasant from the daily specials, whilst our GSD was brought some treats, and a bowl of water. The food was very good and portions were just about the right size. Service was attentive without being intrusive. All in all a very nice lunch time. We will definitely visit again.

Came her a couple of times during a stay in the area with family back in September. The atmosphere was relaxing on our first visit for drinks where they had a good range of gins to choose from. During our second visit the food was amazing I had the prawns to start, and the pesto pasta for main. My sister had the dirty knicker bokker glory and it looked incredible. Very big dessert as you can see so would advice not eating too much beforehand if you wanted to order this. Staff were also chatty, very helpful, and continuously asking if we wanted anymore drinks. Only disappointing thing about the evening was we could hear a local being quite rude about one of our 3 dogs who was barking a little, even though she could have gone in the other room where dogs aren’t allowed. Apart from that would definitely visit again if I found myself in the area in the future.

Excellent pub with a fantastic menu. Lovely selection of cask and keg ales in a great setting. The menu was far more exciting than your standard pub fare and was the best meal we had on a weeks holiday in Yorkshire - cant recommend enough.
