Value for money at this place. Food comes out quickly, went for the usually fish and chips and knocked it back. Been here a couple of times, sometimes has no sauces. :-(

Went today (Sunday) as my usual place was closed First bite of the fish and I knew it was going to be below average & I wouldn’t finish it The batter was stodgy & heavy instead of being light and crispy that should melt in the mouth Smelt quite oily as well. Chips were hard & undercooked. At nearly 15 I’ll never go again It’s not the size of the fish it’s how it’s cooked ! And start taking card payments!
If you want great quality fish and chips. Mother Hubbard's is the place to go! Staff are always nice and so is the food never once had a problem I would highly highly recommend going here if you want the best fish and chips
If you want quality and value for money you cannot beat Mother Hubbard. Have used 4 different outlets and they never disappoint! Very consistent. The fish is always chunky n crispy. The chips are chunky but always well cooked. You get 2 big scallops in a portion and they are thick. The peas have a good taste and my partner loves their curry sauce. Even if you just get a fish on its own they still chuck in 6 or 7 chips so you don't feel you are missing out!! I will travel past all other fish shops if I know there is one around, worth going out of your way for.
if you want premium fish and chips at good prices this is the place for you. This is my 3rd visit in the space of 10 days and I can officially say some of the best fish and chips around The staff are extremely friendly and the place is very clean if you think you eat you should try the super jumbo with chips that we tried. 25oz Icelandic haddock and chips served in a pizza box. WHAT A mistake as this food was enough to feed 4 and there were only 2 (staff did warn us that it feeds 4, but our eyes were bigger than appetite) of us but I must say that it was value for money. 10/10 keep up the good work
