Magnificent performance by orchestra directed by a brilliant Conductor who conducted the entire Romantique concert from memory without a score. Absolutely delightful evening. Thank you Montpellier. A highlight of our travels in Europe.

Depending on the year, usually a pretty good repertoire, and then the Opéra itself has a fantastic feel, good viewing angles and often hosts interesting events. Having both been to perform and spectate and I can say without a doubt that it's an enjoyable experience!

Amazing venue with a multidisciplinary approach to live arts. Highly recommended to young people with low income. You can find cheap tickets for very good quality shows

The Aardvark Arrives

Gorgeous, sumptuous venue putting on superb classical music concerts. It's easy to buy the reasonably priced tickets on line. The seating plan seems complicated but there's something to be gained from whichever comfortable seat you end up sitting in. The front of the stalls will give unparalleled access to the quirks of the conductor! The National Orchestra of Montpellier is excellent and they attract some very skilled soloists. One point to note is that they don't seem to have refreshments in the interval, despite signs to the 'Bar'. So take a bottle of water and enjoy!

Professional and international orchestra. There is definite ambition and strong musicianship in each section. Their programmation is a good combination of popular works, more challenging pieces and/ or a few premieres of contemporary work. The audience is always rooting for them. Nobody leaves until they heard the encore!
