Always enjoy having a pint in here.I've been drinking in the Montford since I moved to area in 1996, and still popped in now and again even before then. The staff have always been very friendly although I have seen plenty come and go over the years. I always liked the atmosphere, cause whenever I went in with my mate you would always bump into someone else you knew. We have also brought in the bells at new year in there and these are always special times. Hopefully will continue to socialise here for many years to come.

I've been to this establishment a number of times and the food is decent plus the staff are friendly and helpful. However, I was very disappointed in my most recent visit to find that the procedures put in place to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 were largely not being followed. None of the staff were wearing face masks -- The staff were mixing very closely with each other and customers, with little to no social distancing -- There was a one way entrance and exit route in place, but it was impossible to follow this because of the large group of men drinking in the middle of the bar -- These were only one of large groups of people standing very close to each other (and blocking other people's movement) but no effort was made by the staff to ask them to follow guidelines -- Despite having seen counter screens at other bars and restaurants, there were none in place here. I frankly felt very uncomfortable and, as much as I enjoy going to The Montford, I won't be visiting it again any time soon.

Cosy pub with great whiskey selection. Multiple tvs , perfect for watching football, reasonable prices.
