Heard a local telling some fellow tourists about this. You can use cash, contactless or the just park app.....BE VERY CAREFUL WHAT MACHINE YOU PAY AT.

Nice walk to the beach be aware it is down a hill. Paths all the way down. Good parking for 2all day
Perfect place at bottom of town central to the Bay area and about 10 minutes walk down the beach to fossil areas. Only 1.40 an hour so won't break the bank. Well paved area and good for walking and pushing prams.
Spacious parking and can pay with an app. You can easily extend your parking time without coming back to the car park. The Monmouth beach is very nice for a city beach and not overcrowded
Arrived before 10:30 on the first day of the school holidays and found quite a few spaces but it was clearly starting to get busy with the sun coming out. Used JustPark app to pay for the parking which was a lot easier than looking down the sides of the car seat for the right change. 1.20 per hour for the location seems a bit of a bargain compared to where I live in Lymington. Only a few seconds walk from the Cobb and town is a nice stroll alongside the beach. Only downside is that the spaces are pretty tight, especially if the person next to you can’t park correctly!
