A true Portuguese home cooking restaurant. Friendly and attentive family run place. The slow cooked black pork meat was simply heavenly. The lightly sparkling white house wine a discovery. The expresso was a true tasty enjoyment. Nothing to fault in its real home cooked food.

Paula’s simple family style restaurant serves traditional Portuguese fare with a smile. The food is fresh and tasty and there is a large terrace. The piri-piri chicken I had last week ranks among the best in Portugal... my family loves the Serra de Monchique and we’re frequent visitors, having had a house there for decades. You can go to O Castelo your eyes closed and your mouth wide open

Excellent, very friendly, professional service. Very tasty classic, juicy, puri puri chicken, served with top drawer chips and salad. Social distancing very much respected and felt very safe. Outside area also, making a win win situation. Will be returning.
Delicious chicken piri piri, bread, chips, salad and desserts, coffee, wine and medronha. Friendly and welcoming owner and staff, great view on a large, sunny terrace, off road parking. Spacious, classic indoor seating, clean . Appeals to all nationalities.
Paula and the staff are very friendly and attentive. The food is very good, especially chicken piri piri, and prawn piri piri. Fabulous terrace view to the south coast.
