Nice but very busy campsite close with sheep nearby. 150 yards walk to the town with quaint high street, independent shops and pubs, Co-Op close by. A choice of walks around the top of the town into the hills.

Brilliant camp site and great staff. We came in August for the first time and was disappointed, the site was busy and the staff didn't seem very friendly, but we decided to give it another chance on our way to another site and the experience was completely different. Excellent all round.

Following our motorhome trip around Scotland and still a long way to get back to England, we called in to the Moffat site to ask if they had a pitch available for the night to break up the journey. I must say the staff were excellent, very helpful, and although the site was very busy they bent over backwards and managed to accommodate us for the night. I have only recently joined this club and if this is the service they provide, I'm glad I joined.
Lovely stop over on the way up to the Highlands. Excellent toilet block, plenty of cubicles and the best chemical loo station I have ever seen with hot water washing basin with soap and hand dryer. Freindly staff with good local knowledge and discounts negotiated with local pubs. Nice town with good shops and local walks. Worth more than just a stopover visit.
