I came during the Covid19 pandemic, so the inside was closed. We viewed the outside, still nice! One thing though, the park next to it has SO many homeless camps! It is hard to enjoy a supposed to be nice walk in the park. If you avoid the homeless camps it is very nice. My sister is studying the San Fernando mission, that is why we went! To get into the park, you have to cross the horribly busy street! Another thing is, a homeless man closed the gate on us, we could not get to our car, but we got through and got the car. Be aware of that. The reason I gave it only three stars is because, all the homeless camps! I went during 4:30 PM, it was very calm. The building itself is plain, but I have seen pictures of the inside, very pretty. Fun fact: the ground contains gold because, they found golden flakes on their onions. That is mostly all. (I am not sure if I am supposed to writing about the gift shop)

Beautiful mission. First mission that I was able to attend the church and say a prayer. Also love their nativity scene.

Church services every Sunday! And Baptisms going on as I'm being turned away with my 4th grader who wants to snap photos for his Mission project. Correction: he wanted to snap OUTDOOR photos on the grounds of the mission. Nope! The lady in the gift shop was a hard no. Despite the hypocrisy of a Baptism going on and church tomorrow. Ridiculous!

We love this mission! We photographed a wedding here a little while back and everything about this place was amazing. Very clean and well maintained property. What's cool about this place is that it is the namesake for the entire San Fernando valley in which it resides. There is a lot of beautiful art work from many centuries ago and lots of cool rooms like the wine cellar downstairs and the bishop's room where he would sleep.
