Very well curated museum. Even though all the information on the insects are written in Japanese it doesn’t matter - google translate app to the rescue! Very informative, lovely staff and the butterfly area was the cherry on top. Highly recommend the walk up to the waterfall as well.

Mino is apparently one of the top 3 places in Japan for it’s variety of insects Good price for the amount of work put into the place. A vast range of different insects at different stages; or course on pin boards. Quite a few live specimens too. They looks cool, but it isn’t really interactive and gets quite samey fast. The mantises are pretty amazing and there are a lot on display. The highlight for me was the butterfly area. Was pretty and had a lot of cool plants suited to the butterflies. Only 260 per adult, children are even cheaper. Lots of kids were search around the area; with nets in tow, with the hopes of catching their new pets. Pretty cool to see.

Many interesting insects. Low price. People were swatting at the butterflies and stepping on them. It would be nice if they had some sort of education on respecting nature. The museum does educate about insects. They have some interesting insects that I had not seen in a museum before.

Great little bug museum. It was nice rest stop on the way to the top for my toddler.

This was a great surprise on the walk to Minoh Falls. Lots of dead and mounted specimens, which were informative if a little off-putting (though I guess it's hard to do otherwise with things like butterflies). But also plenty of living insects and a butterfly room full of living butterflies which the kids loved.
