I was so dedicated to eat here that we came here 3 times until we were finally able to snag the seats! It was worth all the research done beforehand reading through reviews and waiting to eat! I can't recommend this place enough. It was such a unique dinning experience that it's a once in a lifetime type of meal. The menu is simple, but absolutely delicious! I recommend bringing cash and being ready to eat some hot noodles! There is plenty of parking around the area and the staff is super efficient and friendly. The vibe inside is cozy and warm! It's a sight to see the servers running around with hot bowls steaming with aromatic smells! I would go back to the area just to eat here! If you are visiting, definitely give it a try and you will not be disappointed.

Located in front of Kawaguchiko station. Family owned restaurant. Food is delicious and comes in big portions, great options for sharing. Famous for the pumpkin noodle and we also tried the cold soba. Place is quite big and less crowded after three.

The restaurant is known for its famous local dish. The noodle is delicious, really thick and the portion is huge, not to mention it is all vegetables and could be eaten by everyone. The place itself is really nice and has that traditional japan interior. Be prepared as waiting time for table and food might take a while as the place is full of people. Also be careful as the cauldron for the noodle is really hot. Best time to visit around autumn or winter.

These noodles will bring you back to life. So thick and delicious, and served in piping hot cauldron. They remind me of the hearty chicken noodle soup noodles great grandmother used to make. There was a line at lunch time, but it moved very quickly.

The houtou noodles themselves were delicious, and I really enjoyed the many, many veggies in the soup. We all left super full. The soup itself is a tiny bit bland, though, I would say. I’d definitely recommend adding in some of the shichimi spice powder on the table! I’m tempted to say that the place only partially lives up to its reputation, but... I did eat the whole MASSIVE bowl, so perhaps I’m not one to comment!
