Hidden away far from traffic and houses, a place of calm and beauty, well and sympathetically run. The young management team kept a discrete presence ensuring everything went smoothly and the whole day was comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable.
We had our wedding here in October. We could not have asked for a better day. It was perfect. The feedback we’ve had from our friends and family has all been extremely positive and they all thought the venue was beautiful. They loved the food and have expressed how delicious it all was, as well as how pleased they were that the portions of food were enough for everybody attending. They have also passed on loads of compliments about all of the bar staff and lots of our guests have expressed how lovely and helpful they were. Personally, we felt very relaxed throughout the day and did not worry at all, everything felt like it was under control by the staff and anything we asked for, was provided. The venue were very accommodating about letting us set up the day before (there was no other wedding that day) as we didn’t have any suppliers and did it all ourselves so this helped us out hugely! The breakfast the next day was nice, lots of food available and it felt very relaxed. Our rooms were nice, the guests had a comfortable nights sleep and our room was lovely, the view onto the fields is very pretty! We got married at the Milling Barn at the end of last year, and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The team who work there are fantastic. They really know their stuff, have a great list of recommended suppliers and their menu and drinks packages are so flexible- it felt like we had a lot of choice. All of the meetings were useful , and it really helped on the day that I already had such a good sense of everything that was going to happen. No email or issue was too much hassle, and all of my questions were answered in a timely manner. On the day, the venue was perfect. The space for getting ready is great. The food and drink was amazing (one guest told me that the lamb dish was the best he had every eaten!) The vegetarians and gluten free guests praised the quality of their food, and the venue was so accommodating of people with very complex dietary needs. The whole day was so well managed. At no point did either of us have to worry about anything- it all just flowed around us like an absolute dream. The accommodation was ideal for travelling guests and it was so nice to be able to have breakfast together the following. day. if you want a gorgeous venue that is professionally run with amazing food then the Milling Barn is the place! Thanks to all the team there, but especially Steph and Wayne who ran the day so brilliantly.
