The scene that greets you when you walk in the door is simply awesome - it really felt like I was exploring the Golden Gai again. We booked and got a really nice, quite private booth that still let us soak in the atmosphere and deco. Our server (i think her name was Felicity) was an absolute joy to talk to, had great recommendations and top quality patter. My kiwi colleagues who are used to London service were blown away by how great she was, and it was so appreciated as I had spent the best part of 3 years insisting they come to Glasgow to see how lovely the people are. Don't worry, they're flatmates. Was still two households We ordered from all parts of the menu and there wasn't a single miss. The ramen broth in particular was as good as we had in Tokyo, and the only thing I would've really liked to see would be having the option to get it as a dipping tsukemen with big chunky udon. That would really give it the Tokyo experience. Also worth noting for the spice lovers like me, the hot and spicy options pack a genuine and welcome punch. I'm not an expert on cocktails, but the smoky smoky and the Japanese-style Old Fashioned were both super tasty and aromatic, and come served under a glass of smoke which makes it feel like quite an event. Top scran, top drinks, top service, great prices.

The best food I've had in a restaurant in years. The prices are brilliant for the quantity of food. My boyfriend said the salt and chilli wings were the best he's ever had. The staff were also very friendly and attentive. Would recommend to everyone!
We visited Mikaku for lunch yesterday and the food was deeelicious. I love that they have small portions of ramen as it leaves room for other dishes. The chicken karaage in particular was sublime; the meat was so tender and juicy with no gristle and I loved the mayo dipping sauce that came with it. Prices were surprisingly low, we paid just under 30 for two and had a lot of food for that. We will definitely be back!
Arrived at 5pm for a 6pm close. Food was so slow that we got asked to take it away and even got charged full price. How can you possibly take bookings at times when there's not even a chance your food will come out in time? Hoping for better service if we return.
Lovely setting and they do small versions of most of their dishes which is great if you want a small bowl of ramen and 2 wings! (Although don’t pick the yuzu ones, they lacked flavour)
