Full disclosure, I live in the condo community in which Metropolis is nestled, so we go there often. We know the menu by heart. Their food is great, my favorite is the very creative Pork Palacios. They have a cozy little patio next to water and fountains and shaded by the condo buildings. The employees are happy and so friendly. We love having this little gem within walking distance.

I found it by accident and it was a fortunate one! Located in a newer metro living complex we had to drive around it a couple of times. Parking was easy and after a short walk under a well-shaded area we found Metropolis. Small place with a good looking bar and an awesome menu. It has a very eclectic menu which gave us many options to please us. I had the honey ginger shrimp platter with Asian slaw. I liked it but found it too sweet. Shrimps were enormous. Ron had mac'n cheese with meatballs. I tasted his mac and preferred it to my dish. Our friend had the pork bowl and devoured the whole thing! We also shared a caprese salad. I liked it but l was again overwhelmed by its sweetness as it was covered with a balsamic glaze. I still give it a five star for their creativity, diversity and service and l will return to try other dishes.

I had to come to Optima three times before I could actually find this place. After that I was hooked. My wife and I have been coming here for years. The patio is in the most beautiful setting imaginable - recline on the couches in the hanging gardens quaff wine and eat cheese like a modern Nebekenezer (you don't have to be as rich as him - the prices are affordable for Old Town and the weekend brunch is a downright steal). The service can be beat and the crowd is largely folks from the neighborhood. This place is Cheers for the 21st century.

Biggest takeaway for me was how expectation meets reality. From the suggestion on Google search to visit this top rated restaurant with great reviews on their food I expected to find a nice restaurant and be blown away by atmosphere and cuisine. Instead I found wrong directions and a marker to an area where the restaurant isn't even located. After 20minutes I finally found it and discovered this is just a small bar like place that's really more appropriate for the people living in the condos surrounding it. When I entered I wasn't greeted and I had to ask if it was open seating. After sitting down it took 15min for someone to even greet me and bring a menu. The clientele there use this place as a bar it seems and most of them were locals who lived there. This isn't a problem but again...my expectation from the listing on Google...I ordered the meatballs as an appetizer and the pork bowl as my entree. They were decent tasting and not bad by any means but from the reviews I would say underwhelming. I do like that the menu options reflect a more diverse, modern, selection of food and not just your typical bar food but again this place really is just like a bar. I would recommend this place if you live in the surrounding condos or are visiting the offices etc. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a BAR with a nice patio and view if you sit outside and a cozy spot if you sit inside. The food was good but I wouldn't say as spectacular as reviewed. Parking will be a challenge as I had to find a spot in a garage which is mainly for residents but probably depends on what time of day you go. Also the marker on Google showing where the place is located is wrong. Makes GPS take you further away. With some improvement this place would be fantastic as it really could be like a little hidden get a way and I think the idea of a place tucked away just adds to the overall experience.
