Dr. Polowy rounded on me in the hospital with a new diagnosis. He pulled a chair up next to my bed and sat next with me for greater than 20 minutes.He talked about what I wanted to accomplish, what my life looked like, he asked about my family and he offered suggestions ideas and his input about treatment. not at one point during his visit did I feel like a patient he was checking off of a list, I felt like a person, somebody he cared about and wanted to see get better.

Dr. Polowy has been an amazing doctor to my mother. He has been her oncologist for awhile now and recently she has been diagnosed with cancer for the 3rd time. He had ordered a brain scan for her and instead of waiting till a weekday (it was late Friday for the scan) he called me at 9 o'clock that night to inform me that there was no cancer in the brain. Also she recently had a hip fracture and she was afraid to say ok unless she talked to him and he made the extra effort to go to her bedside and talk to her and make her feel comfortable about her decision. I praise him for his kindness and compassion, you would be blessed to have him as your doctor.
A great guy that takes his time to understand your history and issues. This doctor is the real deal.
Dr Polowy has been my husband's oncologist for lung cancer since 2011. He is smart, a good listener, and explains things well. He is a busy but caring doctor. He has been awarded numerous awards and recognitions for his expertise, but he remains humble and patient. We are extremely pleased with his competence and care and recommend him without hesitation. He takes time to make sure that our questions are answered. Sometimes appointments run late, but he will always give you all the time you need. He is just genuinely a good, caring person.
Dr. Polowy has been my doctor for the last 5 years. He has never failed to take time with me and address any concerns I may have. He has always provided excellent care and, I believe, is genuinely concerned for his patients quality of life during a difficult period. Dr. Polowy explains all tests and treatments so that I understand exactly what is going on with my case. Does not have an 'ego' although he certainly could with his knowledge, experience, and awards he has gained in his practice. I would highly recommend Dr. Polowy to anyone going through treatment. He is compassionate and caring. Good man.
