I attended ATP Flight School KIWA Jan-Aug 2020 and went through the ACPP (Airline Career Pilot Program). I had a great experience at ATP Flight School and the KIWA location. The instructors were nothing but timely, professional, and willing to go above and beyond. The KIWA staff including Ethan, Carri, and Josh are very helpful in ensuring you succeed in your program! Thank you, ATP!

My overall experience in 2018 with ATP KIWA was a negative and expensive one. However, I do feel going through that experience made me more driven and ultimately led me to the path of a Part 135 operator I now fly with. There is plenty of benefits to going through this school. Just make sure you advocate for yourself and get lined up with a motivated and mature instructor. Sadly, for some instructors this is their first job and lack professionalism. Don't go to ATP for the reason of being able to utilize a student loan. I chose this school for that reason. It wasn't worth it to me. Plenty of other ways to build ratings much more cost effective and timely manner without the negative atmosphere of this school. Management treats you like you are an employee, not a student/customer. The front desk at this location would get irritated if you asked a question. Complete opposite than what is the attitude on your first day signing the contract. Just be cautious. If you sense early on this program is NOT for you then cut your losses and find another way. ATP designed their program to be front loaded and the most expensive flights early on. I started the program with credit for private. The instrument program starts off with long cross country's. You are left with only 10 or so hours to truly learn instrument procedures. This location does boast great airplanes with a G1000 package. You will experience a lot of interesting traffic out of KIWA. However you do pay for holding in the hold bay as it can get 10-15 airplanes deep at times waiting to depart. All in all. Do your research and don't get sucked in because of financial aid. I left with a mass exodus of other frustrated instrument program pilots.
Great school, lots of aircraft available for flight instruction as well as instructors. Newer planes, fantastic maintenance, safety measures.
