Popped in here on a long cross country journey home late evening. Only place open for miles but I wasn't disappointed. Good tasty pie and chips, hot and fairly priced too. If only the public toilets in the car park did not close at 8 pm.

Haddock is one of the best!!!! Soooo big and fresh! Chicken nugget and scampi is alright.... not as impressed as fish! Highly recommend to come there for the fish!
I'm not sure what others are eating who give multiple stars. Recently I would say that this shop has gone downhill rapidly. The cod, well more like pollock, is mushy and tasteless, not to mention the batter which is thick and greasy, but completely encases the fish to the point that you have to look for the fish which is minuscule to say the least. The prices have increased rapidly, 2.00 for a packet of chips, well they were 6 months ago, and it would not surprise me if that had gone up again. The servings are now reduced to a smaller potion. Not quite sure why you have to pay more but get less. There is no contactless, which is annoying. Try Grimburys in Banbury, an award winning chippy who knows how to cook a decent fish n chip meal, with good quality haddock and cod, not pollock. Nice staff but the food isn't great.
This is our third visit. The first visit..our fish and chips were amazing!! The second visit a bit disappointing, fish over cooked! The third time ...Very disappointing!!! the fish was dry and the batter to thick. The Chips were the worst l've ever had and they looked and tasted like they were left overs from lunch time!!!!. Definitely our last visit!.SAD!
Chips were ok, battered food was not crunchy though. Cash only which is a pain. Why no contactless?
