We live just a few miles away and have a fish & chip takeaway from the Mere Chippie about once a month. Every time we visit the manageress is cheerful, friendly and helpful, and the fish & chips are delicious with huge portions. If you pay extra for a large cod you definitely get a large piece of fish. Yummy every time, and recommended. It's cash only, no card payment, which helps to keep the price down.

Very average. Very nice chips. Friendly and fast service. Chips portion size - ordered a medium and got something like a small. Battered sausage was pretty nasty.
