Mellow Mushroom Atlanta - Downtown

Probably the weirdest experience I have ever had at a restaurant. My family and I came in after the recent Cheer Competition. We called prior and asked if we could make reservations and were told that unless our party was bigger than 10 we would not be able to. Upon arrival we were greeted by the weirdest 'host' I have ever met in my life. He did not speak a word to us for the first 5 minutes of us standing at the door. He then told us that we would have to have a reservation in order for our group of 7 to sit together. When I told him I called he was very rude and gave us an attitude. We asked if he could pull up a chair to a table or even sit at tables next to each other and he rudely yelled at us and said that o we could not do that here.\ He then proceeded to walk like a lost puppy around the restaurant while my family and other guests huddled by the door. When he finally seated us (in separate booths) he then went around to EVERY other employee in the restaurant and talked about us by looking and pointing. It was VERY unprofessional. This employee should be trained on how to talk to customers AND how to be a host because this was completely unacceptable. I'm giving it 2 stars because our server (a young girl with red hair) was amazing and super sweet and efficient!

Food was fantastic and staff was really friendly and accommodating. Hats off to this restaurant for really spacing out guests to adhere to social distancing. They offer Togo and outdoor dining for guest who want to lower their risk of exposure to covid. I withheld 1 star due to a crazy swarm of gnats that were harassing our table making it difficult to eat or drink. We were seated directly in front of the bar and requested a new table due to gnats, waitress was helpful and moved us to the complete other side of the restaurant but again gnats were a problem. Not sure what was going with the gnats but was a definite issue.

We LOVE mellow mushroom and regularly eat at them in North Carolina. However the service here was horrible!!!! They had tons of tables open just dirty and it took them 15 mins to finally clean a table and start seating people. We were the second table seated and never saw a server. A table seated after us got served drinks and still no server so we just walked out.

The pizza quality and the funky ambiance of this Atlanta restaurant would definitely warrant a 5 star review, however, when they charge your credit card an extra 10, they loose points quickly. In their defense, they DID refund the money after my 2 phone calls, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. I may try out another location someday.

Never mind these “Anti-Mellows”! LET ME TELL YOU!!!!! If you have not been to the Mellow Mushroom in Atlanta, GA (can’t speak for anywhere else) then you are wasting your LIFE! Not only is their customer service AWSOME these people are consistent! Try the pizza, try the cheesesteaks, try EVERYTHING on the menu, it’s worth every and worth the wait! We have dined in as well as had it DoorDash’ed, carry out and reheated, BOMB af every time! My kids love it here and every time there’s a chance to have the Mellow, we take it! I’m eating a slice of the Funky Q. Chicken right now...
