Downside is the car Park is too small,you can never park and often end up paying to park nearby.The home itself is kept clean&staff are very friendly&helpful
Avoid using the car park owned by Helen McArdle Care near The University Hospital of North Durham. This car park does not immediately shout out it belongs to HMcC but apparently does. It's marketed as a P&D car park for the hospital... They even use the address \University Hospital Durham\ on the Parking Charge Notices that are posted out for the car park. On the face of it it works out cheaper than using the hospitals own pay on Exit car park. Unfortunately, it's managed for them by a company from down south called LDK Security Group. One of the T&C's on the sign is about parking only in marked bays. There are no marked bays in the car park. It is rough land with a bit of fencing. This means that anyone using the car park has to guess where they are supposed to park and guess where the circulation route is. LDK use this guesswork to send out parking charge notices for \obstructive parking\ where even their own photos show that the car in question is not obstructing anyone or anything. We got AppealMyTicket to handle our case as we had to much on our plate at the time. (The ticket was issued to my cousin while visiting her mother (who later died) in Hospital. To be fair after AppealMyTicket contacted them, HMcC got LDK Security group to cancel the ticket. Hence 1 star review not 0 star. Ticket caused a lot of stress in the family and the fact it was cancelled does not mean it should ever have been issued in the first place!
