*RESPONSE You were definitely a 1 star on the day I visited. I notice this has recently been updated so don't try and mislead people. The fish was the only thing that was cooked fresh, everything else was already cooked when we entered.* Little word of warning that this place has a 1 star hygiene rating, and it shows. Fish was great. Chips were a little old and not very hot. Also had a battered sausage which again, looked old. Onto the hygiene rating and the reasons I looked after going. I thought somewhere with such good ratings would be good. First red flag was the owner has no snood for his big, bushy beard. Secondly, when he battered the fish he washed his hand in a bucket of water. Absolutely abysmal for someone that has just touched raw fish. Then a woman came out cleaning. Great I thought. Kind of. She was cleaning some glass panels that had been removed from the hot counter. Where did she do this? On the paper that they use to wrap the food. There was a lovely long line on the paper where the cleaning fluid had been wiped of. They didn't throw this paper away either. This woman also didn't have her long hair in a net. If this is what I saw in the few minutes I was there I dread to think of what happens behind the scenes. Not sure how this place is still open and realistically should be shut down.

Used today for the first time. I must say probably the best fish and chips I’ve eaten in a very long time. Will definitely be ordering again... thank you
