Good for kids
The castle had an interesting history although I wouldn’t recommend the tour for young children. It was all in french and walking around rooms looking at antiques didn’t interest my 5yr old at all. Although I enjoyed the tour and looking at the building and the pretty chapel. We purchased a nice bottle of wine from the Chateau vineyard which was a lovely reminder of our visit. The chateau is a fair distance from the carpark so harder for disabled access.

We were on a coach tour and would certainly recommend this wonderful castle. Our guide could not have been more knowledgeable about the building or the history of the local area. The castle was updated but what an incredible job to maintain the medieval look whilst turning this exceptional building into a comfortable home.
This Castle is 700 years old. The original family descendants still own and operates this beautiful historical castles. There are unbelievable views and more than the views, this Castle had stood the sands of very tumultuous times to become one of the Jewels of France. The inside of this Castle is plush and looks like a museum as the furniture is original. In addition, the kitchen has modern stoves and systems that only a chef would be envious. This Castle has also been in movies and boasts Central heating and a waterless moat.
Beautifully preserved medieval castle with meticulous attention to details and great respect to both visitors and owners. Likely the best castle to visit in Bordeaux area. And they make great wines too! Highly recommended!

This castle has been in the same family for 900 years. Our tour guide was a member of the family (only learned this after we left). He did a terrific job with the tour despite our group being on a tight time schedule. One of the highlights of my trip. The castle is in very good condition.
