IrriWatch helps farmers and their irrigation advisors to optimize irrigation water applications in environments with a signification spatial variability and dynamics of weather, soil and crop processes. The soil moisture and evapotranspiration of every pixel of 10 m x 10 m is measured daily from satellites for capturing these important irrigation processes. Actual crop evapotranspiration from remote sensing offers an alternative to the classical Kc x ET0 approach that for more than 50 years have been applied. Almost all current irrigation advisory systems are based on a local weather station and a tabular crop coefficient. IrriWatch is going to change these simplified methodologies. Based on a subscription of recurrent data, IrriWatch provides soil moisture-based irrigation scheduling, which minimizes water losses and maximizes the crop production. An Irrigation App provides tomorrow’s irrigation schedule for every field being registered. Today’s satellite measurement of the crop status is integrated with tomorrow’s weather forecast. IrriWatch leads to improved operations of expensive infrastructure (canals, gates, weirs), matched supply and demand and leads to a fair, profitable and sustainable agro-ecosystem with more resilient farming.
