I don't want to sound too harsh in this review, but our expectations have outrun the reality. The food was good, don't take this wrong, but missed the richness, statement, depth and surprise we are usually searching for in this kind of restaurants. Paired wines and other drinks, however, were absolutely amazing! Plus we found price for Iceland and michelin rated restaurant quite reasonable. Give 3* only because of the "michelin 2020", otherwise I believe it would be 4. Nevertheless, that being said I would prefer other place in Reykjavik during my next visit.

The atmosphere is great and the drink is quite nice. The food is not as impressed as they looks like. I don't mean they are not good, but just forget their flavor quite soon.

Relaxed atmosphere with great food based on Icelandic classics with a modern presentation and all prepared on the pass at the front of the restaurant. Set 4 course menus were great and popular with our party and we reckoned that the price was pretty reasonable for a Michelin star restaurant 7-800 ISK (45}

Great local style food with interesting spins on old favourites. Good service. Prices are slightly high, but compares favourably with other restaurants of the same caliber.

We had land and sea option to sample both meals. I prefer the land while my friend prefers the sea option. We both enjoyed the meal. Loved the meat ball look alike. Dislike the desserts which are exceptionally sour to my taste. Overall experience is very good. I would go back for more.

I had the "From Land" tasting menu. All the courses were very good, but the lamb broth was a real standout. Try to birch sour to drink. Delicious.

Excellent meal and reasonable (by local standards) prices. Lot of options for food choices. Cool decor.

I was thinking of giving "only" 4 stars but decided that would be too hard. The reason for that is that you get great Icelandic food - but nothing else. But what should that be? So rather on the safe side, serving well executed, tasty meals than pretentious experiments and I will honor that. We had the "Icelandic menu" whose big star certainly is the lamb - I don't recall ever eating such wonderful, tasty lamb, perfectly cooked. Also the croquette was good while I thought the honey took over a little too much of the first starter. All in all a great experience of Icelandic food culture and I'd love to be back one day to test the "Classic Menu" with the cooked Cods head which sounds really interesting - but we decided to go with the "safe" option. :-) Well worth a visit - and actually not too pricey!
