6 stars!! What an absolute gem! This pub has it all - delicious food at a very reasonable rate (less than 10 for a massive sunday dinner), a beer garden, super friendly staff, and it's own brewery!! Ales are delicious and are made onsite by Lee - who is an absolute gent. You can even buy the beer bottled. This is an absolute magnet for locals and visitors - so reserve your seat. In short, if you're looking for the best local in town - then make this your local!

Lovely beer. Dark lane porter is spot on. Bedroom spacious, bathroom almost as big. 4 poster bed looks good.
As a 3* pub in Matlock it gets 5*s. Staff are great. Very friendly and accommodating. Covid awareness and cleanliness in spot on. Breakfast is quality food, fresh and filling. Room is adequate and what you would expect. Ideal place to stay to explore the local area and enjoy a weekend away. Recommended.
Excellent place to stay. Lovely staff really made you feel welcome. We will definitely be staying again!!!!! Food at breakfast and on an evening was very nice. Onion rings to die for compliments to the chef
Felt very welcomed. Lovely ales from their own microbrewery. I had the ipa. Warm clean and comfortable. Just a quick stop this time but would visit again if nearby.
