Celebrated my birthday yesterday night at Mastro's was the best choice ever. Not only the food was delicious, the drinks were well made, the ambiance was inviting and the employees did the impossible to make you feel special. The butter cake was the moat delicious dessert I've had in my life, Jesus

We went there to celebrate a birthday. Overall service and quality of food, also their hospitality was great. They made the celebration very amazing. They also offered a bonus cake for the desert. But I believe their prices are slightly high. This is their only room for improvement.
Honestly, this place is just very overrated. I went here last night for my seven year anniversary with my boyfriend and I almost felt as if choosing this restaurant ruined the night and the celebration in general. We made sure when booking our reservation that the restaurant was made aware of what we were celebrating. The waitress was so dull and unenthusiastic. Minutes into my dinner I could not even remember her name because that’s how little interaction she had with us. She could care less. She never once acknowledged why we were there until I literally had to remind her around dessert time if she could do something special for us. I will say that she seemed very knowledgeable in the menu items but that’s about it. The crab cakes were good and so wasn’t the rest of our food but it was pretty tasteless. There seemed to be little to no seasoning on just about everything. However, my salmon and my boyfriend’s steak was cooked great, I just wish it had some sort of flavor to it. The martinis were pretty good as well. We were not finished with our food and a waiter came by and just scooped up all of our plates without communicating and asking us if we wanted to wrap it. Which we did. That aggravated me a lot that people just kept coming to tables and taking things without asking if we were finished. What really did it for me was the fact that our waitress did not even say bye to us as we were leaving instead she looked us dead in the face and walked right past us in such a rude manner. I had high expectations for this place and I was so heavily disappointed. I do not think I will be returning. Empire down the street is much better as well as ocean prime.

My fiance and I had the most amazing dinner at Mastro's in Boston tonight. The seared shrimp was incredible. The food could not have been better! Aside from the extraordinary food and drinks, Yennie our server went above and beyond to make our dining experience perfect! thank you to the chef staff and management! i will be returning for my parents 50th year wedding anniversary!!!
