This is in regards to the store at Sydney International Airport in the food court. My interaction with the salesperson was very poor. I had been given a ‘travelwelfare’ card by Qantas as my flight was delayed. We were told that it could be used at all shops in the airport. The salesperson claimed he had worked in the airport for 2 years and had never seen anything like it and said that I, as the customer, should know how it was to be used. He stated that I needed to tell him if it was a Visa or MasterCard before it could be used. I suggested that if he didn’t know how to use it, maybe that was something that he should speak to his manager about so he knew for the next time. He then again stated it was my responsibility to know how it was used or for Qantas to have told me. I returned to Qantas and they stated that it was a very commonly used device throughout the airport and all retail assistants should know how to use it.
