We went here partly because of the reviews and partly because they were taking part in the eat out to help out scheme. We had one of the best Indian meals, the food was excellent and we had a good time. Was well worth the visit. Everyhting was great. I highly recommended this place.

This was the worst meal we’ve ever tasted in 30 years of dining on Indian cuisine! Everything that could possibly be wrong was wrong! The menu describes the ingredients and how the chef prepares the meals. I can assure you that what they deliver is nothing like the description. We ordered the Mass platter “a fantastic mix of different seafood” it was a tub of bland greasy sauce with salmon and prawns! The tandoori mixed grill special has never seen a tandoor! It was bland and cold but worse of all the sheesh was uncooked and tasted of cleaning fluid, I’d eaten some of it so if I’m not here tomorrow please inform the coroner! The Shashy again was nothing like described… there was no peppers at all just a bland sauce (the same sauce they used for all the meals) tasteless with no spices whatsoever! This wasn’t a cheap meal, it cost 45 so we expected a good experience, it just shows that the MASALA will sell you any rubbish and call it authentic Indian/Bangladeshi cuisine. Shame on you all at the MASALA, CURZON ST. DERBY. You will only take my money under false pretences once in my life!
